Delete your StockChat account
You can delete your StockChat account and all of its data at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option 1: Delete account in the app (instant)
- Open the StockChat app, or sign in at stockchat.app.
- Tap the menu (⋮) at the top and open Profile.
- Tap Delete account at the bottom.
- If you sign in with a mobile number, enter your password. Then tap Delete forever.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every phone and browser.
Option 2: Ask us by email
If you can't open the app, email support@stockchat.app with the subject "Delete my StockChat account". Send it from the email address on your account, or include your registered mobile number with country code. We may ask you to confirm the request, and we delete the account within 30 days (usually much sooner) and reply when it's done.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, mobile number, email address and password (stored only as a hash).
- Your stock list (watchlist), including archived chats.
- All your chat messages and the replies generated for them, including daily pre-market updates.
- Your plan, daily usage and any replies you reported.
- Pending password-reset codes.
What we keep, and for how long
- Server logs (IP address, time, requested address) are kept for security for up to 90 days and then deleted. They are not used to rebuild your account.
- Backups: copies of the database in server backups are removed when those backups expire, within 90 days.
- Sign-out record: we keep a one-way code made from your account ID (not your number or email) and the deletion time, so old sign-ins on other devices stop working. It is erased after one year.
- Public market data (stock prices and company details) is not personal data and is not affected.
Chats saved on your phone are removed when you are signed out. If you sign up again later with the same mobile number or Google account, you start with a new, empty account.
You can also clear a single chat, or remove a stock from your list, without deleting your account. See our Privacy Policy for more about your data.
